Giveaway – Santa’s Magical Kingdom

aj_sdc_200IMG_7210_wm

It’s that time again when stores are filling their shelves with Christmas wares. Lists are being written, both by children and adults alike. Some of us are in denial that Christmas is only weeks away. While others have already started crossing off the days in excitement.

I am crossing off the days. Not so much in excitement for Christmas. But more so for the summer holiday we indulge in straight after Christmas. I have visions of long walks along the beach and hot carefree summer nights dancing in my head. While my two little boys have visions of presents, Christmas concerts and Christmas parties to have fun at dancing in theirs.

My boys keep the spirit of Christmas alive in this house. The excitement, the way their faces light up, the endless conversations all about Christmas remind me over and over again how special this time of year is for them.

We love Christmas at our house and the Christmas spirit has already begun with our eldest creating hand drawn signs each Wednesday to share at show and tell with a countdown to Christmas! We are waiting in anticaption for our Elves to arrive and have been talking a lot this year about a more simple Christmas. Family, music, magic and pancakes on Christmas morning!

  • Maddi

We always start on December 1st by putting our tree up – taking it in turns to put the star on top. Then we might start baking, wrapping gifts, doing some Christmas craft and I blast the Christmas carols (only when my husband isn’t around be he haaates them!). Hehe

  • Debbie

We have a wooden advent calendar. The kids love opening the little drawers and inside each drawer is a little wooden Christmas decoration to hang on the calendar. It’s a nice way to start counting down the days until Christmas!

  • Melissa Puli

It all starts with the tree going up on the 1st of December and Emily the Elf making her first appearance (or trouble).

  • Lights, lights and more lights. I think I better go and order some more.

  • Alison Wilson

The tree goes up and my house is covered with handmade Christmas decorations! As soon as Grandma’s holly embroidered table runner comes out, the countdown to Christmas is on!!

  • I like to start making gifts and decorations with the kids in November and then the mighty tree goes up in December x

  • Always begin with a walk around the corner, where one house has a reputation of going all out with their decorations. We will never tire of the life size Homer Simpson in the doorway, singing Carols, and mixing up all the words.

  • Michelle Gray

The 1st of December is the date, the family event is all planned, the greatly anticipated decorating of the tree begins. Reminiscing of past Christmases at each hand made decorate sees a tear in my eye more than once during the event. We also pop some bon bons to start the festive season with some bad jokes and silly toys.

  • Pauline

By starting the Christmas Baking. It makes the house smell like Christmas & I never have a shortage of willing helpers & taste testers!

  • Lndeang

I always make a pudding and fruit cake in October. Then the countdown starts for the kids on the 1st December with the advent calendar, we slowly put up decorations starting with the tree. First gift is given on Christmas eve, usually new pjs for the kids. We have only seen Santa in the shopping centre, so this would be truly magical for us.

  • Diana O

Home made advent calendar, with lots of treats and goodies hidden behind each daily door.

  • Di.

Chrissy cards!!! Out comes my enormous ‘Mum only’ craft box and the kids know it’s time, Christmas is in the air, time to get our creative on and come up with a new and spectacular design to instill the Christmas spirit into a lot of our Grinchy family and friends via good old fashioned snail mail.

  • JaniseR

WE start on December 1st with Advent calender and putting up christmas tree
We then make christmas cards for family and special friends.

  • Ann Maree Sculley

December 1st we put up our tree and the kids love to start with their advent calendars ,First week of dec we send Christmas cards to friends and family ..we love all the Christmas events leading up to the fun day !

  • Natasha Atkinson

we start in late November, organizing christmas cards, buying new christmas decorations, making home made decorations and lots of home made crafts with the kids, making food that can be frozen, shopping for presents, sorting out and untangling christmas lights, tree goes up 1st of Dec along with decorations and we start our advent calendars, its all about the kids having fun and learning there more to christmas then just presents, its about spending time together, having a good meal together and exchanging home made gifts to each other along with the commercial part of xmas

  • This competition is now closed and the winner contacted. Thank you Linda for your great entry xx
